      Hi,

I own a pc Pentium III 933 MHz (RAM 256 Mb) supported by an “Elsa Gladiac 511” grafic card (an old one), with a “NVidia GeForce 2 DDR” chip (RAM 64 Mb).

This is surely an obsolete system but it worked very well with “QiLinux 2”.

I tryed to update to “OpenMamba” but I encoutered some problems with the grafic card.

At first, the display started at 640×480 mode without any chance of switching to a better resolution at all (Whereas QiLinux allowed to select the screen resolutions during the installation procedure).

Furthermore, I noticed a very very slow performance in OpenGL applications (like screensavers) I didn’t encounter previously.

How can I solve this problem?

      Hi,

to investigate the problem you might open a bug at bugs.openmamba.org attaching your /var/log/Xorg.0.conf file and the output of ls /etc/alternatives.

      Regards

      Hi Silvan,

this message only to tell you that today I’ve downloaded the OpenMamba image file again and now Nvidia driver works !!! I’m very happy, thank you very much.

I hope the live update will not compromise this configuration.

If it’ll be I’ll inform you.

I can enjoy this beautifull release at last.

      Compliments.
