Hi!
There was a problem. I through ewfacquire created disk image with the set file system of Ext3 in the format of Encase4, for 2 GB file. Then carried the got image on Windows XP, with set Encase 4.2 and an error appeared at an attempt to open the file of E.01: sring is longer 8 bytes. The process of verifying went farther, which defined a disk size, sectors correctly.. BUT able to say nothing about the file system and about other!

Sorry, I don't have experience on this tool but if you have a test case in linux I might be able to investigate.
You may also post a request/bug to the developers of the project at https://www.uitwisselplatform.nl/projects/libewf/.
