I have downloaded the latest Flash-1GB, installed it on a USB stick.

It boots properly, but then a login dialog is presented and I do not know what username and and password to provide in order to continue the startup.

What username and password should I use? I have tried to find this information on the website and on the USB stick but have not found anything.

I am new to openmamba and I am looking forward to explore it further.

Kind Regards

Lars

If you want to try openmamba installed on a usb stick the best version to use is the openmamba-bootusb + one of the iso of you choice (only chech that they match - snapshot version can boot only snapshots iso, and stable can boot only stable ones). Just follow the instruction on the site to install it (you can do it even from the livecd/dvd of openmamba or running it inside a virtual machine with the USB support) The flash-1GB normally don't ask for a password at startup, I'll do further investigation and let you know.

Hi Ercole and thanks for you prompt reply.

I did try (yesterday) to use the bootusb version but it did not work, it could be that I used incompatible versions of the iso and the bootusb, so I have to retry making sure I use compatible versions. However if you find the username/password to use with the Flash-1GB I already created, then it would be highly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Lars

The Flash-1GB version doesn't have a default password and I think you probably hit a bug in the automatic login. This is because this media is not actively tested at the time and I did not sync some changes for configuring autologin with KDE 4. If you are able to access the installed filesystem try setting

AllowRootLogin=true

in file /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
