OpenMamba 1+2: no audio, no video

Ciao a Tutti,

Ho recentemente installato la Milestone I e dopo esser riuscito ad inserirla nel menù di Grub, grazie al gentile aiuto ricevuto da Ercolinux e Silvan, mi sono scontrato con altri due problemi, ovvero:

- Audio: aprendo "KMix", la finestra è completamente chiara, ovvero non è presente niente per poter fare la configurazione. Ho provato a registrare con Audacity ed ovviamente, non registra niente.

- Video: aprendo "Cheese", la finestra presenta strisce colorate ed un riquadro con effetto neve (ID 041e:4036 Creative Technology, Ltd Webcam Live!).

Quanto sopra si riferisce alla Milestone I; ho provato anche la live della Milestone II ed ho riscontrato i medesimi problemi, con l' aggravante che non essendo presente il pacchetto "rp-pppoe", non posso connetermi (oltretutto, la live alle volte si avvia, alle volte no).

Mi piacerebbe sapere se è possibile metter a posto la "I" (dimenticavo, non funzionano nemmeno le quattro frecce per muovere il cursore); oppure, partendo dal presupposto che io riesca ad installare il pacchetto "rp-pppoe", se è meglio installare la "II" e su di essa lavorare per risolvere i problemi prima descritti.

Mi piacerebbe molto mantenere una distro Italiana sulla mia macchina e spero che i problemi descritti si possano risolvere; grazie per la vostra gentile attenzione. Ciao

Ciao, sicuramente conviene lavorare sulla 2 visto che è ormai prossima all'uscita definitiva.

rp-pppoe è già presente nella milestone-2 (sicuro che non sia installato cosa hai usato il cd o il DVD?), comunque per installarlo basta scaricarlo da qui il pacchetto: http://openmamba.org/download.html?file=/pub/openmamba/milestone2/RPMS.i586/rp-pppoe-3.10-1mamba.i586.rpm

Per la webcam in cheese vai nel menu modifica -> preferenze e verifica che sia selezionata la webcam come input.

Invece per quanto riguarda l'audio che modello di scheda hai?

Grazie per il tuo aiuto; ho seguito il tuo consiglio ed ho disinstallato la "I", installando la "II". Adesso ti racconto in che guai mi trovo 🙂

- Connessione Internet: hai ragione tu a proposito del pacchetto "rp-pppoe", esso è già presente con interfaccia grafica (quando me ne sono accorto, lo avevo già scaricato, comunque non l' ho installato), però almeno nel mio caso, creando la connessione, la stessa non si avvia.

Ho provato allora a seguire il sistema che conosco, cioè da terminale, ma la procedura non si avvia (pppoe-setup), perchè non è presente "ppp-2.3.10"; ho quindi scaricato il pacchetto (.tar.gz), ma non mi riesce d' installarlo, allego l' output.

Per quanto riguarda i problemi audio/video, "Cheese" funziona, ovvero sono riuscito a registrare un video, però è muto; anche "Audacity" non registra niente; ti allego due output che forse contengono dati che possono farti comodo, a proposito della scheda audio e della scheda madre.

Ti consiglio di scaricare il pacchetto ppp dal repository di openmamba: http://www.openmamba.org/download.html?file=/pub/openmamba/milestone2/RPMS.i586/ppp-2.4.5-1mamba.i586.rpm

Per poter compilare un programma devi aver installato il gruppo di pacchetti relativi allo sviluppo (in questo caso ti manca almeno il compilatore cc).

Io non sono esperto ed adesso sono anche confuso 🙂 Deduco che i pacchetti .tar.gz non sono adatti per OpenMamba; ho scaricato il .rpm che mi hai gentilmente indicato, ma volendolo installare, ricevo la notifica che il pacchetto è già installato !?

Con un certo imbarazzo aggiungo che non capisco la nota a proposito della compilazione di un programma; a cosa ti riferisci, quale programma dovrei compilare ?

E per quanto riguarda il compilatore "cc", quale / da dove dovrei scaricare ? (Ho provato a fare delle ricerche, ma non ho capito quale posso usare su OpenMamba), e, per cosa lo dovrei usare ?

Mi rendo conto che l' incompetenza puo' dare fastidio, sto scrivendo per non piantare in asso la discussione, ma se per qualunque motivo il basso livello delle mie domande si dovesse rivelare fastidioso, lascia stare. Ciao
