Forum migrated to more modern platform

The openmamba forum has been migrated from bbPress to wpForo, a more modern and actively maintained platform. All existing topics and replies have been transferred, attachments included.

What's better now:

- More modern, responsive interface, comfortable on mobile too
- Improved internal search
- Richer notifications (replies, mentions, followed topics)
- Reactions to posts (likes, etc.) beyond plain replies
- Tags on topics, to find related discussions more easily
- Richer member profiles (activity, followed topics, attachments)

Login and registration stay the same as before.

If you notice something that doesn't work — broken links, missing attachments, odd formatting in old posts — feel free to report it by replying to this topic.

Updated today after 2 weeks I've been away and got the following after a dnf upgrade --assumeyes


 Problem 1: cannot install both glib-tools-2:2.88.1-1mamba.x86_64 from rolling and glib-tools-2:2.88.0-1mamba.x86_64 from @System
  - package libglib-2:2.88.0-1mamba.i586 from @System requires glib-tools = 2:2.88.0-1mamba, but none of the providers can be installed
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package glib-tools-2:2.88.0-1mamba.x86_64
  - problem with installed package libglib-2:2.88.0-1mamba.i586

An issue in my language

Hi I recently installed the latest version of openmamba distro , my language (Arabic) showed correctly with no problems but after update the whole system, my language returned to English . I checked where is the problem and find out that the locale files (/usr/share/locale/ar) of Arabic language not found in the system after update , can you fix this please?! Thanks

Dolphin missing feature

In Dolphin file manager, in the toolbar, view tab, on the option show panel, it should be a panel called information, that also can be toggle with F11. But in openmamba in missing, I thought it would be the lack of plugins, provided by the package dolphin-plugins but it's not the case. Don't know if it's default on dolphin, but other distros I used it had this option to toggle. As is just a small issue, dolphin works as expected, I'm not marking it as support.

SMT not working

This is my first thread in the fórum and I've come across an issue that I wasn't able to solve. Upon booting the live image, my CPU, which is a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, only shows up to 8 threads, instead of the normal 16. Changing kernel parameters, forcing dracut to regenerate did nothing either, loading the module early in initramfs also did not have any effect. The output of cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/offline is null, meaning that the system is not even aware that there are other threads available. Also lscpu shows only one thread per core instead of two. I tried also with an Intel Core i5 14500 and it also display only 8 threads instead os 20. I don't know if this is a hard limit, there are no other kernels in the repos to test. I thought maybe this was an issue with BIOS settings, but other live environments work just fine display all threads correctly.

docker image fails to update

I have the following Dockerfile:

The step dnf update --refresh --assumeyes fails, I have attached the log. Is this expected? Edit: I'm not allowed to upload the log, I put it on pastebin https://pastebin.com/UddYes2K

nvidia_470 installed but card not being utilized

Hi after some updates, the nvidia graphics card has stoppd being utilized by the system. What I mean is that the nvidia_470 package is installed, the gui interface of the driver runs without issues, but everything is being rendered by mesa instead. I have reinstalled openmamba recently while debugging the unrelated kwallet issue, and the problem has persisted. I can see the nvidia_470 package has not changed, I do not believe there was any kernel update either, the issue must be related to something else. How can I figure this out?

Would it be possible to add Microsoft Edge stable to the repos?

Would it be possible to add Microsoft Edge stable to the repos? There is a deb repository here and a rpm repository here Currently I download the deb package manually, extract it and move the data directory in my ~/.local/lib64 directory and add a symlink in ~/.local/bin I'm not sure how the entire openmamba infra works but, given there is only one maintainer and hundreds of packages, I imagine you have some script to fetch updates from existing repos and build packages from them. I am curious on how that works.
